FLAT FINS can be particularly advantageous in applications where it is necessary to minimize airside pressure drop.  The Flat Fin is also effective in reducing airside fouling problems. WAVY CONFIGURATED FINS PROVIDE MAXIMUM PERFORMANCE.  Seventy years of research and development have shown the configured sigmoid-shaped fin to be the ideal surface for maximum coil performance.

In the IHT wavy fin coil design, the wave height and frequency have been precisely determined to maximize air turbulence over the finned surface.  This minimizes the insulating air film by promoting turbulence closer to the fin surface.  It also increases air mixing, significantly improving the effective temperature difference between air and adjacent fin surfaces.
